Your sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Nestled in the beautiful Pennsylvania countryside, The Andersonburg Place is the perfect destination for your group weekend retreat, wedding, anniversary celebration, birthday party, retirement party, bridal or baby shower, family reunion, or simple weekend getaway. Originally built as The Sherman’s Valley Institute aka The Andersonburg Academy (1863-1864-1865.) Post Civil War, it became THE ANDERSONBURG SOLDIERS ORPHAN SCHOOL, which served as a home and school for orphaned children from 1866-1878.  The Andersonburg Place has been meticulously and lovingly restored to combine its beautiful and historic 1800s-era charm with all the modern comforts of today.

Historically Rich

Reviving a historic landmark

The state of Pennsylvania is steeped in rich history, and The Andersonburg Place is a shining example of that. Formerly known as “The Andersonburg Soldiers Orphan School” between 1866-1878, this historic brick building served as both a home and a school for the area’s soldiers’ orphans of the Civil War.
